THRIVE: Summer Wellness Program is built on the principle that self-care and healing from past, current, direct, or indirect stress or trauma is: a personal non-linear journey that varies for different individuals.
The program will consist of 3 virtual and 1 in-person workshop over the course of [June 17th - July 29th] from 12pm-1:30 pm PST excluding the 1 in-person healing hike on Friday July 29th from 3pm-5pm PST.
These workshops will be led by community healers whose knowledge covers various wellness practices. Through community building and sharing of collective and ancestral knowledge on healing practices, program participants will get the chance to learn and engage in deep healing practice in a safe, confidential, and intentional space with healers of diverse and various backgrounds and practices. Each session is intended to build on one another and holds space for both individual reflection and small group sharing during pre-practice and post-practice.
Healing Hike by Raynelle Rino (she/her)
Friday, July 29th, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm PST
Workshop Description:
The Reset & Reflection Hike serves as a pause and resetting of your inner well-being with an outdoor experience. This hike is ideal for those seeking an intentional and healing way of transforming challenges in life with a unique and powerfully healing way. It is ideal for those seeking a specific time in nature to reground as a self-care practice. We'll be guided through a process to develop your intention for the day and a specific meditation to hold while hiking. Most of the hike will be done in silence with some points of breaking into a group sharing of the experience. This hike provides an opportunity to pause, slow down the mind and spirit, and create an open space for rest, an intimate community building experience for leaders to engage more with nature as an intentional place to practice self care, even experience the remembering of the ancient practices of communicating to nature and our ancestors. We will hike on a local (Berkeley) trail and spend up to 2 hours walking a beginner’s level trail.
