Restorative Accountability: Looking Towards Nature To Heal Relationships

  • Zoom link provided after registration Oakland, CA 94612 USA (map)

This workshop will focus on understanding the restorative nature of accountability, an alternative to the punitive norm our society has normalized. Reframing accountability as a restorative practice in the context of conflict can transform how we see the future of building healthy relationships.

Join nature-based coach and leadership development consultant, Raynelle Rino as she guides us through the process of implementing an alternative framework of accountability written in her workbook, Accountability As Restoration, Healing from a Punitive System to Co-designing Restorative Dialogue

Whether you’re a leader in your family structure, community space, or organization, transformation happens when accountability is applied as an opportunity to restore your capacity to generate deeper connections with others. The tools presented offer those struggling to move past roadblocks in relationships and create spaces for breakthroughs by developing a heightened sense of self-awareness and compassion.

Your certified nature-based coach, Raynelle will guide you through the unpacking of the term accountability, discerning the term as a restorative tool rather than a pathway toward punishment or consequences. By referencing key parts of the workbook, Accountability As Restoration participants will dive deeper into the historical context of the term accountability and its limitations in providing true healing and justice to relationship dynamics.

There will be opportunities to walk through the restorative accountability pathway and offer trauma-informed perspectives to help model possibilities to implement the framework into your own relationships. Real-life considerations will provide a critical analysis before implementing a potentially disruptive process, creating safe and courageous containers of healing. Gathering in the community allows the sharing of resources and stories with a community of like-minded justice-centered leaders looking to challenge societal norms of accountability and finally disrupt the continued harm experienced in relationships.

This workshop will be live and recorded for registered participants. An additional group coaching session will be offered the following Tuesday, April 22nd from 3pm-5pm PT. This additional space will provide participants an opportunity to connect as a community around their challenges with conflict, punitive accountability norms, and practice designing restorative dialogues solutions. This space will allow participants to connect and discuss their challenges with conflict, punitive accountability, and practice designing restorative dialogues.

This workshop will be live and recorded and include a Q & A portion.
